It’s that time of year again. You’ve left the garden untended for months, there are old leaves, twigs and other remnants of wintry days scattered around the yard and that poor old chiminea, that you promised to put away, is standing there feeling sorry for itself. Well, the garden is simple – just tidy it up! The chiminea will need a little more love. If it’s cast iron, like mine, then you’ll need a stiff brush and a can of heat proof paint. First of all, give the chiminea a good rub all over with the brush to get rid of the rust. It’s not going to harm the chiminea but it’s just ugly and it will make the next stage easier. So once that’s done give it a loving new coat of paint. That’s it…sep back and admire your beautiful new-looking chiminea.
