Of all the questions I have heard as a travel agent planning trips to Alaska, one of the most common is, “what is the best time to cruise Alaska?

The answer in a sense is simple – the summer is the best time to go.

But then the Alaska cruise season only extends from very late April to mid-September, so you are limited to the summer and late Spring months if you want to see this amazing region.

But of all the summer and spring, my favorite time to visit Alaska on a cruise ship is early September, when the crowds are among the smallest, the bugs are mostly gone, and the weather is still spectacular.
