G’s basic math skills and speed fall within the high average range (76th percentile). A comprehensive measure of her problem solving skills, basic math skills, and math reasoning falls within the average range (62nd percentile). When scores on individual subtests are analyzed, the scores are consistent with G’s self report; i.e., she is able to perform basic mathematical tasks quickly and fluently (87th percentile) but she struggles as the task becomes more conceptual (Calculations = 61st percentile, Applied Problems = 42nd percentile). This finding is also consistent with her score in the lower end of the average range on fluid reasoning (28th percentile), which is a cognitive skill that is related to the ability to perform higher-level mathematics.
