Why does my behringer distortion pedal buzz when I turn it on?

It doesn’t buzz as much or have as much feedback when its off but when it is on the feedback is really loud. Why is this?

it might be your input/output cable… sometimes the connection isnt so great, and itll do that

Bad quality cables could be only part of the problem. If you have a Fender strat, or any other guitar that has single coil pickups, they will have a natural humming sound to them, which will obviously get amplified as distortion/gain gets put through the amp. If you are standing too close to the amp, or your guitar is pointing towards the amp you can experience a little bit of feedback, which again, gets amplified as more distortion is added to your mix.

If you want to know why you get feedback from using distortion, check out this website.
