I don’t like the sound from IM when one of my contacts come online or when I try to buzz someone while instant messaging. How can I change it?
You can change your alerts and sounds in preferences. Here’s a tutorial that will help you manage the alerts and sounds in Yahoo Messenger http://help.yahoo.com/tutorials/ms9/mess/im_pm3.html . if I were you I would not replace all of your sounds I would create a special folder say in my documents and label it Sounds for Yahoo Messenger and in it put those old .wav files. Then in Alerts& Sounds category in preferences you can browse to this folder and pick which ones you want to use.
And here is a unique plug-in for Yahoo Messenger that you might want to check out and it says that there are custom sounds you can choose from. I have not tested this out but I have heard that it works.
